Wednesday Schedule

There is one giant pink elephant in every business right now, Generative AI. All
professionals are wondering about how AI will either assist their work or take their job!
As strategists, we are certainly engaged in our own musing about the future of AI and
strategy.
Among the questions we are all asking are:
The Philosophical: Will AI completely replace strategy consultants?
The Practical: Can I use AI to improve my current strategic planning retreat?
The Even More Practical: How do I get relevant and expert help from an AI?
This year, we are adding a special track about Generative AI and Long-Term Strategy
by dedicating three of our live events to these questions.

The first session on setting an overall destination or purpose for your strategy sets the backdrop.

Wednesday Day 1: True North – Is it Always a Matter of Do or Die When the Stakes are High? 9am UCT -5/Central

In this session, moderator Amie Devero and panelists Marvin Dejean and Alex Fourier will explore the role of a long-term “True North” when chaos strikes. Does having a clear strategic destination help in times of crisis—like wars, pandemics, or economic shocks—or does it become a burden?

What difference does a 10- or 20-year vision make when the ground is shifting beneath your feet? Should leaders stay the course, pivot quickly, or throw out the plan altogether?

Join this interactive session to debate whether long-term clarity is your best asset—or a risky illusion—when the stakes are highest.

Wednesday Day 1: Could AI Replace Strategic Planning? 10:15am UCT-5/Central
In this session, moderator, Francis Wade and panelists, Thordur Arnason and Dan
Bruder will explore the potential role of AI in strategy. How much can it really do? Can
you trust an AI to strategize for you?

Should it be live, in the room as you conduct
interviews –or even do the interviews itself? What will be possible in the next year or
three years? Will AI make strategic planning obsolete? A mere question to ask an
agentic AI? Join this interactive session to ask and (maybe) answer these big questions!

Thursday Day 2: How Does AI Make Substantive Change in Your Strategy Development
Process?
9am UCT -5 / Central
Moderator, Amie Devero and panelists Chris Fox and Anthony Taylor look at the current use cases for AI in strategic planning. Many of us are already using the tools of AI to improve, optimize, speed-up or test our strategic planning. Whether turning to AI for financial projections, or data analysis—or whole portions of existing workshops.

This panel will not only share about the ways they are using AI in strategic planning, but also discuss additional approaches that they have learned, and those that audience members are currently using.

Thursday Day 2: The Threats and Opportunities Workshop: AI prompts for Powerful
Strategy Inputs
10:15am UCT-5/Central
Amie Devero and Francis Wade will lead an interactive workshop with actual prompts and real-time AI engagement. Most strategic planning includes a S.W.O.T. analysis as one of its inputs. So, ensuring a deep understanding of the threats and opportunities is a critical piece of setting a strong foundation.
In this hands-on workshop, you will get to craft your own prompts and to learn the best
way to prompt an AI and engage with it to elicit expert insights. That can make a huge
difference in the quality of your strategic planning foundation.
