Welcome and Meet the Host of the Long-Term Strategy Conference 2026-27

Have you wondered who is behind the conference? Perhaps you’d like to know more about the people behind the event, but don’t know how to ask. Let me introduce myself and the journey that led to this event.

My name is Francis Wade and I am the founder of Framework Consulting, the company behind the conference. We’ve been around since 1993 and we have been helping companies create strategic plans since 2001. I’m also the author of the JumpLeap newsletter and podcast, StratCinema, and I’m also a strategy business columnist for a leading Jamaican newspaper.

I also happen to be a Cornell trained Operations Research and Industrial Engineering BS/Meng alum. I used what I learned from school followed by five years of AT&T Bell Labs to engage in a decade of process improvement work. Later it became known as reengineering.

During my time at AT&T as an internal consultant, I realized that culture and engagement were all-important. To learn more, in the 1990’s I participated in transformation training developed by Werner Erhard for Landmark Education. That became useful when I was added by McKinsey & Co. as a hired hand for client-facing teams, and to train consutants.

So by the time I came across an HBR article on Strategy Mapping by Robert Kaplan and David Norton in 2001 I was ready to bring all that I knew to a fresh challenge. Their work inspired me to try a new way to think about corporate strategy that built on all my prior experiences.

In fact, it provided an important missing link needed to communicate complex ideas to employees who weren’t used to thinking strategically. I trialed this approach with a few willing clients and the EndPoint Method was born.

More than two decades later, my company still facilitates game-changing strategic planning sessions.

But we also know that leaders want more, hence our conference mission:

Sharing novel and exciting ways to apply AI to strategy creation in entertaining formats, far beyond the limits of “Trendslop.

This is our fifth virtual conference in a series: over the last two years we had the Long-Term Strategy Conference (2024 and 2025), preceded by the Sustainable Strategy Conference (2023) and the Caribbean Strategy Conference (2022). Next year we hope to continue on the theme of AI in Strategy Development.

Join me and the rest of my team in a 72-hour stretch intended to really move the needle on our ambitions. My co-host Dale Pilgrim-Wade, associate Chevonna Haughton and I welcome you!
