An accomplished professional known for her systematic approach and breadth of knowledge, Bianca offers a unique blend of business acumen and technology management which she is currently putting to work as Digital Innovation Manager at the Victoria Mutual Group in Jamaica.

Bianca has nearly 25 years of experience in information technology applied to a variety of industries. Starting her career as a software developer, she participated in and led local and remote teams developing custom software solutions and websites for public and private sector organisations, first through one of Jamaica’s first web development companies, Info Exchange, and then through a bespoke software services firm established at the University of the West Indies. She was subsequently instrumental in several major technology implementations in Jamaica. She provided technical and sales support at IBM Jamaica where she was a key part of the team implementing the email migration of a major financial institution. She also helped to drive the digital transformation of Jamaica’s Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) implementing an ID Card system for transportation operators, an intranet solution for island-wide collaboration and an online enterprise project management solution. She then oversaw the development and implementation of major e-commerce platforms at Chrysalis Communications, one of Jamaica’s leading web development firms. This led to her role at Keystone Augusta, a holding company based in Orlando, Florida where she was Manager of Special Projects developed business plans for investments and evaluated investment opportunities in technology firms.

Not limiting herself to pure technology, Bianca brought her project management, business and technology expertise to bear in her lifelong love of the creative industries. First, as Chief Operations Officer of Griot Music, an innovative live music and entertainment company, where she not only partnered in the development of strategic and business plans, and funding requests, she developed operations plan and policies, designed information management and architecture strategies, and managed various infrastructure and systems projects to ensure efficient operations as they sought to make Kingston the regional live music capital. She also helped facilitate the establishment of industry organisations like the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA)and Kingston Creative.

Bianca’s myriad of skills were then put to use managing the Caribbean Mobile Innovation Project, a World Bank-funded project for technology startups across 14 CARICOM countries, developing and implementing programming which included Lean Startup training, mentorship and investor readiness preparation. She pulled on her participation in TechPeaks – The People Accelerator in Trento, Italy where she worked with a pool of global entrepreneurs.

She has now brought this background working with entrepreneurs and startups in technology and the creative industries to her current role in corporate innovation and digital transformation, where she has developed the innovation strategy, spearheaded the development of a comprehensive digital capabilities training programme, created training on and introduced design thinking methodologies and overseen the automation of processes.

Bianca holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Studies from the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Kingston, Jamaica. She also obtained a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Computer Information Systems, both from the University of Miami in Florida. She studied Arts and Cultural Enterprise Management (ACEM) at the UWI in St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, and received a Certificate in Arts and Culture Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, she is a trained Project Manager, and certified in Digital Business Transformation and Strategic Foresight.

In addition to her technology, business and arts and culture knowledge and experience, Bianca is a passionate technology community leader, who founded the Kingston WordPress group and established the Founder Institute Kingston. Always willing to share knowledge, Bianca has also presented to local and international audiences on business model innovation, community building, the intersections of the arts and technology, foresight and digital transformation. She is also the author of a chapter in the recently published book “Intelligent Economies: Developments in the Caribbean” entitled “Tomorrow People: A Caribbean Intelligent Economy Through Innovative Human Capital.

Bianca brings to her work a passion for innovation and entrepreneurial thinking and the heart of a creative. She sees her purpose in life as helping others create purposeful impact by spreading powerful ideas and new ways of thinking to ignite change, and is currently pursuing a coaching certification through the International Coach Academy.
